A couple of weeks ago I watched a speech given by the founder and senior pastor of Life Church, Craig Groeschel during which he shared that none of us can do everything and how we can burn out when we try to do too much. During the speech he said, “You have everything you need to be able to do everything you are supposed to do.” Later in the speech he added, “God guides by what He provides but he also guides by what he withholds” and “God often may withhold something that you think that you want to help you see something that you would not see otherwise.” I’ve been reflecting on those statements since then and how often I’m guilty of taking on too much and filling my life with more and more things. Usually this comes when I give into the temptation to compare myself to others and my accomplishments with theirs. The Apostle Paul spoke about that danger in 2 Corinthians 10 where he says, “We will not boast beyond limits, but will keep within the field that God has assigned to us.” Paul knew his limits and would not go beyond them unless it was God who enlarged his field. I hope that this coming March Break will give you the opportunity to rest. In fact, I encourage all of us to find times of refreshment and rest throughout each and every week as we tend to the fields to which God has called us.
Pledging to GCCS
Donation pledges represent the generous commitment of donors to contribute a specified amount of money to an organization over a predetermined period. These pledges can take the form of conditional donations, where payment is contingent upon the fulfillment of certain conditions, or unconditional donations, which are given without any specific requirements or stipulations.
