The halls of Guelph Community Christian School were filled with excitement on Tuesday as we welcomed our students back for the first day of a brand-new school year!
After a summer of rest, adventures and time with family and friends, it was wonderful to see familiar faces returning through our doors—and to welcome new students and families into the GCCS community. From the moment the first students arrived, there was a wonderful energy throughout the school as children greeted friends, found their classrooms and settled into a new year of learning together.
For our youngest students, it was a particularly special day as they began their GCCS journey. There were plenty of new experiences to take in, from finding their classrooms and meeting their teachers to discovering new friends and learning what a school day at GCCS looks like.
Our returning students also had plenty to celebrate as they moved into new grades, met new teachers and began discovering what the year ahead will bring. There were smiles, conversations, laughter and, of course, a few first-day-of-school butterflies!
One of the highlights of the morning was gathering together for our first chapel of the school year. It was a beautiful opportunity to begin the year as one school community, worshipping together and reminding ourselves that our year is about more than just what we will learn in the classroom. We are here to nurture, educate and inspire in Christ-centred learning and serving, growing together in faith as we learn and serve others.
This year, we are focusing on The Armour of God, beginning with the Belt of Truth. As we explored what it means to know and live by God’s truth, we were reminded that God equips us for the journey ahead.
The first day is always a special one. It marks the beginning of new friendships, new challenges, new discoveries and countless opportunities to learn and grow. We are excited to see all that God has in store for our students, staff and families in the year ahead.
Here’s to a wonderful school year at GCCS—a year of learning, growing, serving and walking together in faith.
Welcome back, GCCS!
