The gym at Woodland Christian High School was full of energy and excitement as our Grade 7 and 8 students took to the courts for this year’s District Badminton Tournament on Monday, April 13th. Competing in singles, doubles, and mixed doubles, our teams faced off against students from seven other local Christian schools in a day that was as much about community as it was about competition.
From the very first serve, the atmosphere was welcoming and upbeat. There was a strong sense of camaraderie throughout the tournament, with students encouraging one another, sharing plenty of friendly conversation between matches, and building connections with peers from other schools. It was a wonderful reminder that sport can bring people together in meaningful ways.
On the courts, our students gave their best effort in every match. There were wins to celebrate and losses to learn from, but in every game, they demonstrated perseverance, teamwork, and respect for their opponents. Their commitment to fair play and positive attitudes stood out and made us proud.
We are so grateful to Woodland Christian High School for hosting such a well-organized and enjoyable event. A special thank you also goes to the parents who came out to support and cheer on our teams—it meant so much to our students.
It was a fantastic day of sport, connection, and community, and we are already looking forward to the next tournament!
