This year’s walkathon was a very fun and exciting event that happened at our school. For weeks the students worked hard to raise money for the walkathon from friends, family and neighbours. This money will go towards lots of things including activities at our school and school trips. Each class had different goal rewards if they raised a certain amount of money, such as PJ day.
The walkathon took place on October 4th and all the students had lots of fun. Our class, Grade 8, along with Grade 7, walked for a long amount of time (over 5km) and we were able to talk to our friends and enjoy time all together as a grade.
As a school we raised over $50,000! Wow! That’s a lot of money! As a reward for all our hard work, the school is going to install two gaga ball pits, and there will be a presentation at school from Bob Cates, a juggler and magician. We are very excited! It was a very successful and fun walkathon. Great work GCCS!
