School Hockey Tournament

-by Paige, Heidi and Corinne, Gr 7

During this year’s hockey season, we had practices once a week, and ended it all off with a fun tournament at the end of January. Each practice built up our skills, teamwork, and love of the game. At the tournament we enjoyed playing the other teams, hanging out with friends, and having fun, win or lose. We had an amazing coaching staff that included Mr. Rooseboom, Mrs. Scheerer, Mr. Pilkey, and Mr. Klein-Geltink. They made the practices both engaging and enjoyable, and were very supportive at the tournament. They showed us ways to improve on things like passing, shooting and teamwork.

The players were Corinnne, Paige, Bentley, Charlie, Brett, Kameron, Jacob, Rj, Isack, Kaecie, Micah, Dean, Jude, and Blake. We had a few parents there to cheer us on and support us as we gave our all out on the ice. As for the standings, we unfortunately lost in the semis, but it was a learning experience for everyone.
