On Wednesday, September 24th, our school’s girl’s soccer team, which was made up for girls from Grade 7 and 8, went to the District Soccer Tournament. We had a great day filled with fun and hard work. The day started off with a successful game against Kitchener. After that, we had a break before another successful win against Lystowel. We got to watch the boys play between all of our games and it was fun to cheer them on. Our third game was against Burlington, which we sadly lost after a tough game. We placed second in our pool after that game, which meant that we had to play the team that was in first place from the other pool. We were playing against Drayton in that game and it was the semi-finals, which meant that if we won, we would move on to the finals, but if we lost we would be out. We ended up losing that game, after keeping the score tied for the entire first half! That was the end of our games that day, and so we packed and then took the bus back to the school after a very eventful day. -by Emily, Grade 8
