Grade 5 Chapel: Learning from Our Bodies and God’s Daily Provision

This week in chapel, our Grade 5 students led us in a creative and engaging presentation all about the human body. Through a lively skit, they explored how our bodies are made up of many different systems—each with its own important role.

The presentation was structured around small groups, with each group representing a specific system—such as the circulatory system, digestive system, nervous system, and muscular system. Each group spoke about their system, sharing interesting facts and even trying to argue that their system was the most important. It was wonderful to see the students speaking confidently, explaining the functions of their systems, and showing their passion for their “assigned” roles.

As the skit unfolded, it became clear that no system works in isolation. Just as the students discovered in their performance, all of the systems are needed for the human body to function properly. This realization tied beautifully to our monthly focus: “Give us this day our daily bread”. Just as every system in the body relies on the others to function, we rely on God to provide what we need each day—physically, emotionally, and spiritually.

The students also demonstrated how movement in the classroom helps them release energy and refocus their minds. By getting their bodies moving, they illustrated the importance of caring for our physical health as part of learning and growing.

We are so proud of our Grade 5 students for combining creativity, knowledge, and faith in such a meaningful way. Their chapel reminded us all that just like the systems in our bodies, every part of our lives and community works best when we work together—and when we trust God to provide what we need each day.

Pledging to GCCS

Donation pledges represent the generous commitment of donors to contribute a specified amount of money to an organization over a predetermined period. These pledges can take the form of conditional donations, where payment is contingent upon the fulfillment of certain conditions, or unconditional donations, which are given without any specific requirements or stipulations.
