Grade 2 Chapel: Learning the Power of Forgiveness

This week, our Grade 2 students led us in a meaningful and joy-filled chapel centred on our theme of the month: “Forgive us our debts.” Through scripture, storytelling, music, and movement, they reminded us that forgiveness is at the heart of Jesus’ teaching—and something we are called to live out every day.

The students began by sharing a skit based on the Bible story of Jesus healing the paralyzed man. As they acted out the story, we were reminded that Jesus sees both our hearts and our needs. Before healing the man physically, Jesus chose to forgive his sins—showing us that forgiveness brings true restoration and freedom. The Grade 2s communicated this powerful message with confidence, creativity, and sincerity.

Following the skit, our chapel time was filled with joy as the class led us in one of their favourite worship songs, “Super Wonderful God!” With big smiles and enthusiastic actions, they invited the entire school community to join in praising God together. It was a beautiful moment of shared worship that reflected the joy and gratitude of young hearts learning who God is.

This chapel was a wonderful reminder that forgiveness isn’t just something we talk about—it’s something we practice. Whether it’s forgiving a friend, showing grace to someone who has hurt us, or remembering how deeply we are forgiven by God, our Grade 2 students showed us that even the smallest voices can carry the biggest truths.

We are so thankful for our Grade 2 class and their wonderful teacher for leading us so thoughtfully in worship and reflection. Their chapel was a true blessing to our school community.
