What a wonderful way to wrap up the school term at GCCS! Our last day of school was filled with laughter, festive fun, and holiday spirit as students and staff came together for Deck Yourself Day. Hallways and classrooms were alive with creative outfits, festive flair, and self-decorating, putting everyone in the mood for the Christmas season. From sparkling hats and colourful outfits to imaginative decorations, it was incredible to see everyone’s creativity shine.
The festive fun continued with our Share Assembly, where each class performed their Christmas concert piece in front of the whole school. After their individual performances, we all came together to sing our main song, with teachers joining in, filling the room with music, movement, and joy. There was dancing, worship, and celebration—a perfect way to mark the successful conclusion of our concert performances.
Adding even more cheer to the day, our Grade 8 students spread Christmas joy by dancing through every classroom, blaring holiday tunes and encouraging smiles, laughter, and a little impromptu dancing from students and staff alike. Their energy and enthusiasm were infectious, reminding us all how wonderful it is to celebrate together as a community.
The last day of school is always special, celebrating friendship, creativity, and the joy of the season. It was a perfect way to close out the term, reflect on all we’ve accomplished, and head into the holidays full of gratitude and Christmas cheer.
